Sundays sermon

How to Love Your Family Proverbs 22:6

I loved Sundays message!! It was on the verse that says to train up your children so they will not depart. He said we are to train them not teach. Train-obey, respect, mold character, instruct by exercise, prepare for contest. Train them that they are to be champions for Christ. From day one. Train them to represent the King and defend the kingdom. As as parent we are not to teach history we are to be the doers of the word. They will not depart does not mean perfection. We all imperfect and have a sin nature and we must daily crucify our sin nature or we will live for ourselves and not for Christ. It is the parent's responsibility to teach the child not teachers or friends.

Here lately I have had a lot of things pointing me in the direction of homeschooling and again out of a daily routine Sunday did it again. How awesome our God is in how he will speak to us individually if we will just pay attention. We don't have to sit and read every word in the Bible to find our answers. That will just get you all stressed and extremely confused because you are searching not listening. You pray then wait and He will show you in your daily life His answer. Wow!

Our Sunday school lesson was great too! We talked about Luke 10:1-16. We are currently focusing on outreach. In our busy lives we look around us and see oportunities but don't go and visit them. It doesn't have to be across town or in China but in our own neighborhood. We all have people around us that are not going to church on Sunday. They know where we are going and we know they are not. So why don't we take the time and invite them or share the gospel. It is as easy as knocking on the door. We are all guilty of just driving by. In this passage we have the reassurance that God will be with us in the visit. He will make us capable. And after we do what God has laid on our hearts to do it is up to them to accept Christ not us. If you do have a visit that does not go so well He says they are not rejecting you they are rejecting me so wipe the dust off your feet because you have done your job. And if it isn't there time you still planted that seed. I find this to be comforting. I have a hard time doing this and it just gives me a since of peace now. I guess it is that feeling of rejection that scares me the most. There are a few people around me that I need to visit.
